The trio from Team Vision braved the wind and took to Dalton Airfield on Wednesday for a midweek criterium hosted by our friends Abingdon Race Team. With a game plan in place, the race was fast from the start and lots of early attacks strung the field out very quickly. Becca's enthusiasm and strong form became obvious to the rest of the field (and spectators!) as she initiated and led the breakaway group from about 20 minutes into the race.
Laura worked hard to also make the break and proceeded to stay with them for several laps, until she and Rose from the Condors Cycling Club collaborated together as a 2-up. Rose demonstrated her time trial strength and had strong ride to finish 3rd, with Laura coming in 4th. Becca went on to demonstrate her flying form and speedy legs by holding a strong gap with another rider, celebrating her first win at Dalton!
Meanwhile, Mimi played an important role in the remaining bunch (now rather strung out), having helped the team set up their moves and finished strong with an impressive sprint.
The girls were very happy with their rides and thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and relished the opportunity to practice the all important teamwork! We are looking forward to our next event.
If you want to talk to Laura about the benefits of sports massage, you will find her in Vision kit at team series races and local road and criterium races.
